Flair was set to team up with Alexa Bliss to defend their WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles against Piper Niven and Alba Fyre on the August 29 episode of SmackDown. However, Niven was replaced by Chelsea Green shortly before the match for reasons that remain unclear.
During their entrance, Flair and Bliss were ambushed by Fyre and Green, which prevented Charlotte from participating in the match. Consequently, Bliss faced Fyre in a singles bout, and the title match was ultimately scrapped. In a subsequent segment on the latest episode of SmackDown, Charlotte attempted to gain medical clearance but was denied by Dr. Lilly, resulting in her continued absence from the ring.
